Embed Issuu Into a Wordpress Post or Page
Want to embed an Issuu publication into your wordpress blog but can’t seem to get the embed code working? Issuu offers many options for embedding your publication online but they don’t offer a wordpress code snipet or widget… as of yet.I got the above publication embedded into this post by using the Kimili flash embed plugin for wordpress and only grabbing part of the HTML code that you can get from Issuu’s embed page.Select HTML Embed
And you should get some code that looks like this:

The only part you need to grab is in bold… and then when you’re in wordpress click on the embed kimili button (circle button with the F in it) It asks you for a direct link to the flash file. Thats where you past the code in bold above. Then it asks for dimensions of the file. Simply put in the width first and then the height. So in this instance I put in 425 and then 288.
425×288 I believe is the largest you can select to embed your issuu publication elsewhere.
I hope this helps you out. I’m sure someone (maybe issuu themselves) will develop a wordpress widget or plugin to make this easier.

Hi Sebastian, you need to refer to Issuu’s TOS. I’m not sure. A majority of the time when a company builds a widget like this they do so in hopes to draw traffic back to their site and sometimes Google Pagerank. If I’m sending them traffic I usually try not to send Pagerank so I remove any unnecessary followed links by just editing the embed code.

Any tips on embedding issuu on wordpress.com NOT wordpress.org??? Issuu has since come out with a widget, however, you can’t install the plugin to the .com. How could we get around this?
Hey Katie,, you can get around that by moving over to your own site. When you use wordpress.com you are really limited and you don’t own your site, wordpress.com does. I always recommend not using free blog hosting sites for that reason. You have a lot more options when you go with your own hosting and wordpress install. And if you’re worried about installing wordpress on your own host it’s really simple if you choose a host that offers Fantastico, which is a script that helps you install a bunch of scripts like wordpress in just a couple clicks. I’m currently hosting this site at Hostgator and they offer that. Maybe give it a try?
